Under the hood, the GT and GT Plus trims feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine uses a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission that directs power to all four wheels simultaneously. Upgrading to the R/T or RT Plus model gets you a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbo, plug-in hybrid engine with one electric model. This setup produces a combined 288 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and is backed by a 15KW battery, offering an all-electric driving range of 32 miles. The PHEV powertrain is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that works with all-wheel drive, too.
You and your passengers will feel comfortable in any of the new Dodge trims. Each boasts a spacious, refined cabin with welcoming seats for up to five passengers. The GT model starts out with black cloth/leatherette upholstery. Higher trims offer a more luxurious setting with leather upholstery and heated, ventilated, and 8-way power front seats. Standard interior tech features include a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 10.3-inch infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Heated steering wheel, wireless charging pad, and integrated navigation are also available on the GT Plus and RT Plus models. Regarding cargo space, the GT models boast 27 cubic feet of storage space behind the second row when in use and 54.7 cubic feet with second-row seats folded. In the RT trims, these figures come down to 22.9 and 50.5 cubic feet, respectively. All trims offer the same set of safety equipment, including blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear-cross traffic alert, etc.
All the Dodge Hornet trims impress in the comparison. They offer a comfortable interior, powerful engines, and a standard all-wheel-drive system for optimal traction and control on rough and slippery surfaces. However, the R/T Plus is clearly superior to other trims in the Dodge Hornet range. It has a more powerful engine than the GT Trims and more upscale features than the equally powerful R/T model.
